Successful environmental and energy audit for KSG Gornsdorf
From April 2, 2025, to April 4, 2025, auditors from DQS (German Society for the Certification of Management Systems) conducted the environmental and energy certification audit in accordance with ISO 14001 at the KSG site in Gornsdorf.
The result of the audit was a successful recertification of the environmental management certificate according to ISO 14001 – 2015. Sustainability is a central component of our corporate strategy. The successful recertification shows that we systematically integrate environmental aspects into our processes.
The following points were particularly positive:
- a high-level and innovative management system for the environment and energy
- KSGo employee app as a proven medium for internal communication
- energy savings of 1.812 GWh despite economic change
- value-adding internal energy audit with visual presentation of recommendations
During the production inspection, the auditors encountered qualified employees who responded very positively to suggestions for improvement.
Some areas for improvement were addressed immediately and reported back during the audit. This sense of responsibility in the workplace was rated very positively by the auditors.
Perspectives: The significance of ISO 14001 recertification for KSG
The successful recertification according to ISO 14001 not only confirms our previous course, but also forms the basis for future developments in the field of environmental and energy management. We see sustainability as an ongoing process—with the aim of continuously developing existing systems and tapping into new potential. The findings from the audit are being used in a targeted manner to make our measures even more effective and drive innovation forward. In this way, we are ensuring that KSG will remain a pioneer in responsible and resource-efficient business practices in the future.
